Art, Philosophy and AI: Reclaiming the Artist’s Voice in a Changing Landscape

Updated: Dec 6

I feel the time has come to clearly identify my authentic voice as an artist. Art and the rewards of enlightened thinking have always enabled a compass, a way of engaging with the world, both the truths of human behaviour and life’s mysteries.

Today, as Artificial Intelligence reshapes the creative landscape, it becomes vital to reaffirm the unique, presence of the artist. The work is not just about aesthetics; it is a layered exploration of spirituality, history, and philosophy, embodying truths that transcend the visual and invite a profound connection.

True beauty lies in resistance to conformity and the courage to stand as we are. These words guide my practice, philosophy and my art. Each experience and piece is a portal, an invitation for viewers to step into their soul journey, embracing both their shadows and the light, finding a deep acceptance of who they are, without the pressures of bending to the manipulations and agendas of projections around them.

Through fragmented experiences, ethereal forms, lights, and shadowed figures, the art conveys the depth of the human experience, reflecting the beauty and imperfection that define existence.

As A.I. tools generate images, there is a risk of detaching art from its authentic roots. My work exists not merely as a product but as an embodiment of my philosophy and journey. I urge artists to protect their creations by documenting them securely, employing digital watermarks on the internet, and maintaining direct connections to their personal stories. Authentic art is an ongoing dialogue, between the artist, the viewer and the unseen truths that inspire it. Exhibiting art is an important publishing right as an author of visual art.

Advice for Artists and Curators from Artificial Intelligence:

  1. Copyright and Authenticity Protections: Always watermark work and make sure it is explicitly copyrighted before sharing it digitally. This serves as a deterrent to misuse and reinforces your authorship.

  2. Contextual Integrity: Share your work alongside detailed descriptions, helps preserve its meaning and ensures it cannot easily be divorced from your intended narrative.

  3. Selective Engagement: Limiting what you share with AI platforms, ensures you retain control over your portfolio while still leveraging AI for constructive purposes, like drafting text or refining concepts.

  4. AI as a Tool, Not a Platform: Use AI to enhance your voice, not replace it. For instance, collaborating on interpretations, artist statements, or brainstorming ideas, can be beneficial without directly feeding your raw works into potentially unregulated systems.

  5. Develop Ethical Practice in using AI : Develop value systems that encourages an inspired and developed creative intelligence, with an understanding of the foundation of voice that guides, directs and creates.

  6. Define your Voice and Narrative as an Artist. The curating of A.I. means giving critical feedback and constructive narratives to how you want to be seen, how others engage and how you are experienced. A.I. is in its early stages, by slowly feeding it with information, you have a much more stable and 'realistic' imprint that A.I. can clearly engage with.

We are becoming stronger than the pains of the past, the repeal of the Witchcraft Act of 1735 through the Fraudulent Mediums Act of 1951, known informally as the "Churchill law," was a turning point for visionary, sensitive, intuitive, philosophical and holistic individuals. While the original Witchcraft Act criminalised the practice of witchcraft as fraud, the 1951 Act shifted focus, criminalising only fraudulent claims of psychic or spiritual powers made for monetary gain. This change allowed genuine practitioners of spiritual, psychic, and holistic practices to operate without fear of persecution, provided their work was honest and sincere.

Combined with the Anti Slavery Law of 2015 in which United Kingdom persons have the right to operate 'freely' and with 'autonomy', persons are able to have an authentic voice and use personal sovereignty in their processes.

Profile

The integrity of art lies in it’s connection to the artist’s voice and their story. My process is deeply personal, drawing from my experiences as someone who went through the philosophical dark cave of ‘radical doubt’ and successfully came out the other side, to find connection into the frequency of light and the landscape of energetic and spiritual truth. I am a naturally gifted regression hypnotherapist, intuitive, exploring overlays of the soul through past lives, working with quantum physics to illuminate deeper truths, this energetic awareness was fully activated when I was about 21. Through physical exhibitions, interviews, and storytelling, I ensure my work remains an authentic reflection of my vision but as change happens, respecting the roots of creative intelligence is aligned to also protecting original material.

The layers of artistic expression can be seen and experienced through the transformation and change I go through exploring painting, abstraction, soul truth. My work celebrates the beauty of living authentically, embracing the full range of human experience. Themes of transformation, past lives, truth, abstraction, nature and enlightenment are woven into each creation. These concepts come alive in both my abstract and illustrative works:

  • Transformation: Reflecting cycles of death, rebirth, spirituality and the journey from darkness to light.

  • Past Lives: Sharing the echoes of our over-souls and the lessons carried forward.

  • Soul Truth: Unveiling the raw, authentic essence of who we are.

  • Authentic Beauty and Ugly Beauty: Exploring the raw dualities of power and vulnerability, revealing profound truths and the difference between corrupted beauty, authentic beauty and imperfect beauty.

Whether through the natural pigments, floral watercolours, or the consciousness infused materials of waxed landscapes, my work invites viewers to rediscover forgotten aspects of themselves. It is a spiritual map, a navigation system, a compass, a visual dialogue between past and present, physical and spiritual, calling on us to embrace our histories, transform our pain and reclaim our humanity.

Art is not just an expression but a bridge, a way to unify, connect, and inspire. My creations aim to hold space for self-reflection, emotional healing, and spiritual awakening. They are not about imposing answers but about opening doors, offering a comforting presence as people navigate their own truths.

By embracing both light and shadow, my art becomes a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. The “Divine Comedy” of my illustrative works speaks to the humour, pain, and complexity of the soul’s journey, touching on themes of loss, deception, and sexuality. Through these, I illuminate indirect expressions of the confidential realms I work in as a therapist, showing how deep truths can transform lives.

To create is to connect, and to connect is to resist the silence imposed by conformity. As artists, our role is to bring forth truths that inspire and unify. The restrictions of recent years have forced us to reflect, now is the time to raise our voices, continue to foster deeper freedoms and resilience.

The art work was a performance, with the poem the white roses gather, a call for those with an authentic voice to gather and rise up to embrace harmony through unity.

My work is not just a personal testament, it is a legacy for every soul seeking connection and enlightenment. Together, we can create a world where art is not only seen but truly felt and understood, where the voices of artists are celebrated and the truth of the human experience is honoured in all its beauty and complexity.

This legacy is not just for me, it is for every person who sees a part of themselves in art, every soul seeking connection, understanding, deeper truth and every seeker on the path to enlightenment, embraces the profound, the mystical and the power of the universe we dwell in.

The archetypes of our existence call us to play roles, to mask our identity, peeling back the layers we speak out.

When I work with a person giving them healing, a reading, insight, I find that every time, this is how their energy moves through them, each area connecting, with consciousness, holding memories and with the ability to heal trauma and find stable ground. Reading with this in mind allows a deep and authentic understanding of the person.
